A fantasy series inspired by Japanese mythology, with a huge hit in Japan and beyond
This series is a story of the legendary bird in Japanese mythology, Yatagarasu.
In this world of Yatagarasu, which is like ancient Asian world, they had been cultivated
their own culture living with a human appearance for a long time, however, urgent issues are occurring;
the succession of loyal family, the power struggles of noble families and the war with invaders from the other world.
The keys to tackling the problems are loyalty and friendship.
In each volume, stories unfold according to different perspectives,
and the continuing mysteries are resolved in unexpected ways at the conclusion of each book.
As the series go on, through the mysterious adventures, the young prince
and his friends successfully overcome many difficulties during their adolescence
and the whole world of mythology gradually show its secret meanings in the magnificent scale,
including its connection to temporary world.
Author: Chisato Abe
Born in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture in 1991.
In 2012, while studying at the School of Culture, Media and Society at Waseda University, he became the youngest person ever to receive the Matsumoto Seicho Prize for his work on Karasu ni tan wa ni nai ga nai (Crows Don't Wear a Hat). In 2017, he completed his master's course at the Waseda University Graduate School of Letters.
The epic fantasy of another world, "Yatagarasu series"
, which continues from his debut work, is currently in its second part, and including the spin-off, "Mochizuki no Karasu" has 12 volumes. The NHK anime "A Crow Doesn't Elect Master," will start broadcasting from April 2024. Other works include "Hatsugen".

Born in Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Design and Information. Selected for the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2016. Since 2020, he has been working on the cover illustrations for Yatagarasu Series, and the end cards for the NHK anime series "A Crow Doesn't Elect Master," which began airing in 2024. His collection of works includes "Natsuki ART WORKS" (Graphic-sha Publishing).
